Filmed Sexual Assault

https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/714693699917/miami-porn

There's a point in this documentary, which mainly focusses on the now financially successful pornstar Veronica Rodriguez (in truth, she earns most of her money, as all of them do now, not from videos, but from escort work, from club appearances, from private camshows, and from selling soiled clothes), where Rodriguez briefly discusses how the industry takes advantage of young women who don't know any better - chews them up and spits them out, tarring their social image forever but without any prospect of long-term employment within the industry. She says there were several early scenes in her career where she didn't realise - wasn't told - what indignities or abuses she was going to have to endure and had to adapt in the middle of a scene. In other words, her early scenes involved filmed sexual assault. She gave the impression that this is not uncommon. I think there is very good reason to think this. That is, a nontrivial amount of porn is filmed sexual assault.
